The top 10 best food deliveries in Dubai

While it’s no secret that Dubai has some truly amazing restaurants, sometimes we just want to stay in. Sure, it’s nice to visit one of the city’s rooftop bars for a cocktail in the sky, or venture out for a wholesome afternoon tea, but it's also a lovely treat to let the food come to us. Thankfully, Dubai is well catered to in that department. Not only are there plenty of apps like Deliveroo and Zomato that do the legwork for you, but there are also some top-tier restaurants supplying the goods.

If there’s one thing Dubai has in buckets, it’s choice. Few cities in the world have such a breadth of global cuisine, from incredible Chinese food and dim sum to brilliant British restaurants and everything in between. The options don’t just span the world, however. Dubai's delicious delivery selection also varies hugely from casual quick bites to lavish culinary journeys. Thanks to this, you can pretty much order anything you can think of, from a box of chicken nuggets to truffle wagyu, and it will arrive in minutes.

The downside is that this embarrassment of riches made it extremely hard to decide what to include. Despite the challenge, we have managed to narrow it down, so you can peruse this shortlist and make a choice we’re sure you’ll love. If you’re not sure what you’re in the mood for, then don’t worry - this list has a little bit of everything. Each item has a bit more info too, so you can read more before deciding where to order from. Most importantly, we’ve included which apps each restaurant is on, so you don’t have to waste time trying to discern that too. Enjoy!

Asha’s

What: Asha’s is famous for being one of the first global Indian restaurant chains, with 17 locations in five countries. Luckily, the Dubai site is on three delivery apps, so it couldn’t be easier to sample the incredible food Asha’s has to offer. We recommend starting with the sharing platter, which features the cream of the crop when it comes to appetisers: jheenga naar, chicken samosas, aloo tikki, corn and cheese samosas and chicken tikka. When it comes to main courses, there is a great selection of kebabs, curries and biryanis to choose from, and plenty of sides like raitas to boot.
Where: Pyramids, Wafi
Which app: Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Zomato
More info: Asha’s

Jones the Grocer

What: For a healthier option, Jones the Grocer serves up a huge menu of global dishes for you to peruse. Breakfast options include the Amazonian acai bowl, granola and a traditional English breakfast (ok that last one isn’t quite as healthy). The all-day menu, meanwhile, features the likes of Jones’ signature chicken Caesar, prawn and papaya salad and ‘the ultimate cure’ charcuterie platter. Don’t miss out on the delicious desserts, including passion fruit eclairs, saffron milk cake and Basque burnt cheesecake.
Where: Ground Floor, Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai
Which app: Deliveroo, ChatFood, Talabat, Direct

Mezzaluna

What: Thanks to the wonders of delivery apps, you can enjoy dishes like eggs Benedict from Mezzaluna in your very own bed. This elegant Italian restaurant does more than breakfast though. Beef carpaccio and truffle arancini are just some of the delicious starters, while mains include seafood linguine, homemade beef lasagne and an asparagus and green pea risotto with basil pesto and Parmesan. Gluten-free pasta is also available, upon request.

Sansation

What: While we highly recommend visiting Sansation in person to enjoy the lovely terrace and waterside view, the restaurant does also deliver. Start with a choice of Italian starters like shrimp puttanesca or middle Eastern starters like falafel, before choosing from a wide selection of salads, wraps and mains. Be sure to sample some of the grilled dishes, which include charcoal chicken, lamb tikka and a mixed grill platter. Pasta dishes such as arrabiata and seafood linguine are also available, and desserts include baklava, profiteroles, tiramisu and ice cream.

Couqley French Bistro

What: Who says you can’t enjoy French food at home? The delicious food from Couqley French Bistro is also available for delivery, so you can sample the goods without having to go anywhere. Choose from classic French dishes like onion soup, beef tartare and escargot to start, before moving on to the likes of sea bream, lamb shank or lobster ravioli. Burgers are also on offer here, including the famous raclette burger, truffle and brie or a beyond patty for vegans.

SIKKA Cafe

What: For unfussy pan-Arabic food, SIKKA is the spot. This relaxed restaurant has a huge choice of food, including curries, kebabs, flatbreads and sweet treats. Don’t miss the mixed grill, featuring lamb tikka, kofta and chicken skewers served with French fries, or the chicken tikka manakish, topped with makhni gravy, chicken tikka and mixed cheese. Which app: Deliveroo

Tribes

What: There aren’t that many African restaurants in Dubai, but Tribes is arguably one of the best. This chic establishment serves up the likes of west coast fried calamari and buffalo chicken chops to start, followed by burgers including chicken, salmon or wagyu and showstopping mains like Moroccan spiced lamb chops, beef short ribs with white beans and vegetables, or chicken bunny chow (served in a freshly baked loaf of bread).

Señor Pico

What: What’s better than tacos on the beach? Some would say, tacos delivered to your door! Señor Pico offers that and more. Kick off with nachos, piled high with queso, sour cream, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños and fresh coriander, before moving on to the big stuff. Tacos include beef, spicy shrimp, ribeye or scallop, while burritos feature similar fillings but in a bigger package. Finish with light, crispy churros and chocolate sauce for the full Mexican experience.

Purani Dilli

What: Start your meal from Purani Dilli with a deliciously warming shorba such as lamb, chicken and pistachio, or red lentil, before tucking into the grilled goodies on offer. The signature Dilli tandoori murgh is an absolute must: large pieces of chicken on the bone, marinated with lemon, yoghurt and spices. Other options include mutton, lamb, paneer and mixed vegetables, all skewered and grilled. Curries and biryanis are also available, again featuring chicken, lamb, paneer or vegetables. Kulfi with falooda is also a must for authentic desserts, but there is also a choice of ice creams.

That way you can enjoy your bruschetta, pasta, pizza, risotto and the like from the comfort of your own home. Those who perhaps are in the mood for something else need not worry, LCI also does burgers and sushi.

Now that you’ve seen the top 10, all that’s left to do is decide. Of course, there is another way to minimise the distance to travel for dinner - stay in one of Dubai’s incredible hotels. Some would say they are what Dubai is most famous for, plus they usually have some great restaurants within. The restaurants in the Burj Al Arab are pretty spectacular. So, if ordering a takeaway isn’t quite glamorous enough, dinner and breakfast in a hotel might be just what you’re looking for.

If hotels aren’t your thing, we recommend checking out these top breakfast spots in Dubai, where you can enjoy a morning meal prepared by someone else, without the hassle of having to check in and check out. Of course, it goes without saying that skipping the overnight stay will save a lot of money too.
