Couqley French Bistro is a charming Parisian bistro that brings a small piece of Paris to Dubai. Located within the Mövenpick Hotel in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, this particular site was the first of the Couqley family to open in the capital (there is also second site in Downtown Dubai). Offering casual-premium French dining, fairly priced wines and warm and friendly service, this relaxed spot is the perfect place to bring families, friends and loved ones.
The interiors are deigned to mimic the traditional and cosy aesthetic of a typical French bistro. Features include crafted mosaic floors, Bordeaux wood panelling, a marble and zinc cocktail bar and an indoor French garden-inspired terrace.
The menu offers all of Couqley’s most-loved dishes including steak-frites, escargots and pain perdu. In fact, the entire menu is a homage to classic French cuisine, and includes an array of starters, salades, plat principals and beouf dishes. Kick off with the likes of soup of the day, sauteed mushrooms in puff pastry or one of its signature salads. There is a section dedicated entirely to beef dishes which includes a wealth of steak options, from entrecote to tartare. While main dishes might feature duck confit with sauteed potatoes, caramelised onions and a duck jus, or chicken served in a creamy herb sauce. End on a classic note from the sweet selection, such as a crème brulee or a chocolate mousse.
Alongside the a la carte offering, Couqley’s also offers a business lunch menu on weekdays, a cheese menu and a kids’ offering so you can bring the whole family along. When it comes to the drinks, the focus is on the wine and includes a global selection of reasonably-priced bottles, while beers, cocktails and spirits are also on offer if you prefer.
