7 easy ways you can help restaurants amid Covid- 19

There’s no denying Covid-19 is wreaking havoc on the hospitality industry as increasingly people refrain from eating and drinking in public spaces in a bid to avoid catching the contagious virus which is sweeping the globe. Restaurants in all the affected areas worldwide are feeling the impact of financial strain resulting in many temporarily closing their doors to try and offset the economic losses.

Restaurant and venue bookings are down and cancellations are high as people change their plans to minimise time spent on public transport or in crowded spaces as advised by government recommendations. So we want to ask for your support to help raise awareness and support the industry at a time in needs it the most. The great news is that many of these small things you can do to help are possible without even having to leave your home. So if you want to do your bit to support her are a few suggestions of things you could do even if you’re in self-isolation.

Write a review

No it’s not something you should leave to the professionals. Just about anyone can write a review and it really makes a big impact, whoever you are and whatever your writing skills. Think about the last place you ate and enjoyed and pull together a few comments about your overall experience there. Not only will this help others get an unbiased insight, it also gives the restaurant and its employees a great boost in morale when spirits are low. Naturally we would love you to place your review on our website but there are plenty of other sites that facilitate free reviews too, including social media platforms.

Post a photo of your food

Did you take some photos of your food when you ate out recently? By posting it on your social media channels and tagging the restaurant you’ll not only instil some envy in your friends you’ll also be helping the restaurant attract more customers in the long term.

Interact on social media

Similarly interacting on social channels with your favourite restaurant accounts will really help build their engagement and attract interest from a wider audience. So like, comment and share away – it’s a free way you show that you care.

Subscribe to their newsletter

Yes it might make you grumble when a sign-up box pops up on a restaurant’s website but again this an easy way to lend them support and better still get you some special bonuses like invites to events, intel on new menus, special offers and deals.

Do you really need to cancel?

We certainly don’t blame you for being overly cautious but if you had plans for dinner out and are thinking about cancelling we advise consulting the latest Government’s guidelines first to consider whether it’s strictly necessary.

Be kind

It might sound obvious but in times of hardship a few extra gestures of kindness can go a really long way. Whether this is via a thank you email, phone call, recommendation to a friend or acknowledgement on social media – share some love!
