The menu begins with a few dishes from the raw bar, along with a tempting selection of small plates. You might choose to start with yellowtail tuna ceviche with white soy, yuzu lemon puree and coriander tapioca, wood-fired bread with smoked labneh and dukkah, or grilled padron peppers with romesco and toasted garlic.
Elsewhere, bigger plates include lamb shank with mint chimichurri and potato puree, and beef short ribs with truffle king brown mushrooms and burnt leek aioli. While from the butcher’s block, guests can choose from a range of steak cuts, all of which are hand cut, brushed with smoked beef fat and served with vine tomatoes, sweet potato gratin and a rocket salad. Steaks include more affordable options such as rib eye, all the way up to Australian wagyu cuts such as tenderloin MB5.
Those with little ones in tow will rejoice at a reasonable and semi-healthy kids’ menu, which sees the likes of fish and chips or a burger served with fresh vegetables.
FireLake is suited to any occasion thanks to warm and stylish interiors throughout, from tan leather booths and modern light fixtures to strategic lighting. There is also a sizeable outdoor terrace with wooden decking, large tables and chairs, as well as a lush grass area and screen for sports viewings throughout the year.
