Alnoman Mandi Restaurant

Alnoman Mandi Restaurant is one of the few Yemani restaurants in Dubai, that serves up a unique cuisine rarely found in the city. At first glance it looks a little unassuming, with a brown exterior and large white writing above the door, with floor to ceiling windows taking up the rest of the front. A similar theme continues as you walk into the restaurant, with a relaxed and unfussy interior, and a pared-back style of grey brick walls, simple black chairs and faux marble tables. Half the seating has been put into a table and chairs format, whilst the other half of the room has been sectioned off into mini booths. However, rather than putting sofas and tables into these areas, they have been left with just carpets and a small rug, so that diners can enjoy their food in a more traditional setting, sitting on the floor. You’ll even find a small pile of supplies like a box of tissues, to clear up afterwards.
It’s a limited menu here, with a choice of mandi trays where you can choose from different meats, or biryani that can also be made with a variety of meat. As well as this, there’s Zabiha bread with Emirati meat made the Bedouin way, Gouzi Emirati cooking with stuffing and Regag bread and Saudi flattened with Naimi lamb. Plus, when the timing’s right, there is also a special menu available for Ramadan known as the ‘fasting breakfast meal’ which includes a rice bowl, drink, apple and a cake.
It’s grown a reputation over the years for serving something that few other places do, and all at a reasonable price. As well as this, the staff are all notoriously friendly, meaning you get excellent service as well as delicious food.
