About

Situated in the Hilton, Table 9 is one of the hotel’s most popular dining spots, renowned for high-quality food at reasonable prices in a space that lends itself to both casual dinners with family and friends and special celebratory occasions. Monochrome interiors give the venue a minimalist chic elegance in keeping with the refined food it serves, and the white walls and widely-spaced tables create a bright and airy feeling perfect for escaping the intense heat outside. The restaurant was originally launched in 2011 by Gordon Ramsay’s protégés, Nick Alvis and Scott Price and later achieved award-winning success with Darren Velvick at the helm. It now continues to draw a clientele of discerning diners from the capital to try the regularly changing menu of European classics.

Starters are split between soups, hot and cold options. Highlights include a classic lobster bisque with garlic croutons and crème fraiche; slow-cooked crispy beef short ribs in a sticky BBQ sauce with pickled radish, green apple and potato chips; or the grilled octopus salad with a saffron potato foam, taggiasca olives, sundried tomatoes and fennel.  Mains comprise a tempting selection of dishes showcasing classic culinary techniques with tried and tested flavour combinations. A crispy duck breast comes accompanied by textures of carrot, plum, pickled shallots and a port wine jus ; whilst a grilled corn-fed chicken breast is served with a mushroom purée, potato fondant, truffle sauce and heirloom carrots. From the fish options roasted red snapper is a popular choice, and comes with a leek velouté, bok choy and a zesty yuzu aioli; whilst a more traditional pan-seared sea bass dish is accompanied by cannellini beans, asparagus and lemon. Vegetarians are also well catered for with dishes such as a forest mushroom risotto with truffle, parmesan and crispy mushrooms; and crispy marinated tofu with broccolini, sugar snaps, and bean sprouts, finished with a chilli, lime and ginger dressing and peanuts.

Diners wanting to indulge their sweet tooth won’t be disappointed by the desserts selection. Table 9’s signature beignet comes with coconut mascarpone, lime curd and meringue, whilst chocoholics will struggle to resist the temptation of a 70% dark chocolate tart with vanilla bean ice cream.
