With a prime spot overlooking the popular SAN Beach, Loren matches sophisticated Mediterranean dishes with some of the best views of any restaurant in Dubai, and that’s saying something in a city that specialises in stunning vistas.
Ristorante Loren is a love letter to the iconic glamour of the Italian Riviera in the 60s and 70s, and there’s a clear retro-chic vibe happening all over the restaurant, whether it’s the plush velvet menus, breezy, foliage-laden interiors or that sumptuous view across Dubai Marina. At the heart of the restaurant is a large marble fish counter, where a huge range of fresh fish and seafood are kept on ice, ready for you to choose.
Much of this fish and seafood is available raw or cured - there’s a variety of oysters available by the half dozen, as well as a range of tartare and carpaccio dishes made using anything from branzino and tuna to scarlet prawns. The extensive menu also includes antipasti, pasta, salads, risotto, pizzas and classic Italian secondi plates - again there’s a focus on great seafood with dishes like cavatelli with mixed seafood and lobster bisque, risotto with crustaceans, crispy pizza with tuna carpaccio and avocado, and seared wild sea bass with beluga lentils and broccoli puree.
There are lots of classics on the menu too, from a traditional vitello tonnato to a spaghetti vongole, tagliolini cacio e pepe, or a Milanese veal chop with rocket. Accompanying the extensive, accessible menu is a large wine list that includes lots of Italian grape varieties as well as worldly wines.
