In our opinion, you can’t beat a good gastropub and while Dubai certainly isn’t lacking in terms of options, it’s always nice to have another one up our sleeve. RePUBlik is found on the Lobby level of the JA Lake View Hotel, which is just set back from the city’s Palm Jebel Ali on the road out to Abu Dhabi, along the coast.
With its indoor-outdoor dining room, you can choose whether to catch some sun (or shade) by the poolside or enjoy the air conditioning of the pleasantly decorated dining room. Here you’ll find smart wooden tables dotted around the main area, with cosy banquettes interspersed throughout – which are ideal for family dining. Elsewhere there are high tables that are perfect for snacks and drinks, or a run of bar stools where you can pull up a pew to enjoy a pint or two while watching the team at work.
Once you’ve found your seat it’s time to tuck into the modern European menu of bistro food. Think gourmet burgers and chips, steaks, club sandwiches and seafood plates like pan-friend scallops, smoked salmon or grilled sea bass. Come desserts and there are all kinds of things to satisfy a sweet tooth – from classic European desserts through to simple ice cream servses. The drinks are just as pleasing, with craft beers and a range of luxury spirits available to guests. In fact, one of this restaurant’s unique offerings is its beer flights, which allow you to sample a few different draughts in a carefully curated selection. All of this is served up by the helpful, friendly team who are on hand to ensure you have the best experience possible.
