Open Sesame is the in-house restaurant Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown - a boutique hotel in Downtown Dubai right by the edge of Dubai Creek and just a short walk from Dubai Mall. The restaurant serves a wide range of local favourite dishes, with a menu inspired by Emirati, Levantine and Anatolian cuisine. Open Sesame is also well-known for great coffee, with specialty beans from nearby Cafe Rider Custom Roastery.
The interiors are slick and modern, with marble floors contrasting patterned textiles on the walls and sleek curved pendant lampshades. Outside on the terrace, an assortment of lime green armchairs are gathered around tables, providing a picturesque spot for late evening dinner or a drink as the sun sets.
Open Sesame’s all day breakfast is especially popular, as the restaurant serves up a wide range of breakfast and brunch options, from a classic eggs Benedict or muesli with spirulina to a masala omelette or baskets of assorted homemade pastries and breads. Breakfast comes with lots of tea and coffee choices, and the restaurant offers all sorts of different coffee options, with coffees made via your choice of Aeropress, cold brew, V60 brew, French press or syphon.
The all-day lunch and dinner menu leans towards Emirati and Anatolian food, but there’s also a good dose of classic Mediterranean crowd-pleasers in here too, providing something for everyone. Starters, for example, include hot and cold mezze platters, baked feta with olives and salt and pepper calamari, but if those aren’t your style, you can also tuck into a burger, a classic club sandwich, tuna Nicoise or gnocchi Sorrentina.
Open Sesame provides on the drinks front too with a menu full of signature drinks and house cocktails, including the intriguing Riders Negroni (Campari, Martini Rosso, Bombay Sapphire and Burundi single origin espresso).
