Levant & Nar sits right on the waters edge at the bottom of the InterContinental hotel. Inside is a minimalistic, chic restaurant with long wooden tables, sofas with canvas cushions, and marble pillars lining the room. Lights are dotted above the tables, but rarely needed as the sides of the restaurant are made up of floor to ceiling windows. Not only does this bring in lots of natural light, but it allows for undisrupted views of the Arabian Gulf. Just the other side of the windows, is the large terrace that goes around the edge of the building, and offers the perfect spot to watch the sunset at the end of the day. Dine al fresco alongside the firepit, or make the most of the late night shisha whilst taking in the ocean views.This Lebanese inspired restaurant serves traditional cuisine served in a contemporary way, using local seasonings and spices. The menu is made up of various mezze dishes, salads, grill options and more. Think manti, a turkish dumpling filled with minced beef and topped with garlic yoghurt and tomato sauce, zaatar manakeesh, and also urfa kebab with chargrilled lamb, flat lavash bread and pilav. Of course, being in such close proximity to the sea, you can expect to find plenty of seafood on the menu too. There are options like traditionally cooked sea bass and oven baked lobster, but if you want a little bit of everything then go for the mixed seafood platter, where you’ll find everything from pan seared salmon to omani lobster served alongside a warm barley salad.To drink, there’s a choice of cocktails available, including some specials with arabic and Ottoman heritage spirits, as well as plenty of wines that come from across the globe, including a majority that were produced in Turkey and Lebanon.
