Founded in New York in 1984, Indochine brings its timeless classics to Dubai in this stylish, trendy venue. The restaurants pairs a fine-dining concept with dark, moody lighting; foliage both in pots and in the wallpaper; and contemporary art adorning the walls. With this tropical decor and exotic fusion of French-Vietnamese cuisines, it creates an ambience of sophistication and class, with a touch of excitement and liveliness.
Such a stylish venue allows the restaurant to host private events as well as being a popular spot for large group dining. The venue can be privately hired out in full for up to 200 people, while non-private group dining allows 10-20 guests to feast on a set menu that is served family-style down a long table.
Food offerings at Indochine are certainly unique and exciting with its combination of Vietnamese and French flavours. For starters, a confit duck salad is joined by a yuzu kosho nuoc cham dressing; a sea bream carpaccio comes drizzled with a ginger dressing and pickled radish; while French snails take on a whole new meaning with their lemongrass and kaffir butter, served alongside a vietnamese house baked baguette.
For a main course, menu highlights include the wagyu striploin with a vietnamese chimicurri and the black cod served in a sweet and savoury blend of a caramel fish sauce. Each dish uses high-quality ingredients, presented with elegance, and are perfectly paired with one of the side dishes that include jasmine rice, charred corn or crispy, spiced caramel eggplant.
The fusion of flavours does not stop at the food with a cocktail menu full of signature creations. The Indochine take on a classic martini combines ginger vodka, berries, champagne syrup, lemon and passion fruit. If you're feeling adventurous, try the second empire - tequila, galangal, chilli, lime and vietnamese basil - as it's sure to give a great kick.
