About

Gazebo restaurants are well known across the UAE with restaurants scattered across every corner of the country. In Dubai alone there are multiple branches, with the Al Barsha South one of the younger siblings of the original site.

The secret to Gazebo’s success is the unique cooking style the restaurant has perfected over the years. The menu is centred around the ‘Dum Pukht’ tradition which sees food cooked low and slow over flame for a wonderful flavour and texture. For curries and rice dishes, live coals are scattered over the cooking vessels to achieve just the right temperature, imparting heat in a measured, steady way. Once opened, the pots release their aromas for dishes that hold layers of flavours built from unique blends of spices and top-quality ingredients.

Thanks to the cooking style, the biryani is the star of the show here with options ranging from chicken malai through to mutton. Elsewhere, starters might include cheese samosa; papdi chhaat with its layers of potato, sweet yogurt, green chutney, tamarind and masala; and paneer kurkuri which see the delicately flavoured cheese rolled in roti and deep fried for an addictive snack.

From the grill the tandoori chicken takes centre stage as the most popular serve, while the lobster makes for a luxurious alternative. Here you’ll find a whole crustacean marinated in spices and tandoori masala infused yogurt, served with salad and chutney for a fresh and memorable meal.

As with many Indian restaurants, vegetarians are well catered for here too, with plenty of choice for plant-based diets and flexitarians. Think paneer skewers, vegetarian biryanis, and rich lentil curries.

If you can, leave room for dessert so you can try the range of sweet treats on offer. Our favourite is the classic sticky, syrup-soaked gulab jamun.

Interiors are refined and elegant to reflect the restaurant’s homage to the royal rooms of Indian’s finest homes. Expect polished floors, statement lighting, comfortable upholstered chairs and interesting artworks and objects dotted amongst the surrounds.
